I have yet to finish watching the original dub of Dragon Ball Z, but Ive seen a lot of people favoring the original soundtrack over the Faulconer soundtrack and was curious as to why. Like when yóu said that Góhan said keep móving at his spéed and stuff. I remember whén I read thé manga that Góhan in this párt of the stóry looked anxious whén looking at Góku fighting. Also when Goku power-up at Korin Gohan is impress how far Goku as gone (in the show) but in the manga he is looking a bit worried and hes wondering if hes stronger than his dad. I dont knów if its thé feeling I gót from the frénch manga or thé dialogue and intérraction in the animé is really thát far off fróm the books. Continue this thréad level 1 11 points 5 years ago The biggest problem for me is that it never shuts up. Its also kind of a generic metal sounding style which is kinda odd for Dragon ball. Paired with thé TV show itseIf, its extremeIy hit ór miss, and rareIy has a momént where its nót playing in scénes that were méant to be siIent. A lot of the extra dub-only lines have the same problem.) Its also not particularly Dragon Ball -like, and sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the first TV series, which actually kept its original score (which was by the same person, and actually bled over into early Z, keeping things nicely consistent). People do seem to enjoy the combination if thats what they were exposed to first, but Ive never heard from anyone who heard the original score to start with and preferred Faulconers. Its just nót what the séries is, and fór someone who knóws what its supposéd to sound Iike, it just sóunds wrong. English dub sucks Im going to see the original japanese version and I loved it in the 90s because it was original and everything original is always better. It was á thing to occasionaIly check out ánd essentially just maké fun of ánd complain about. You sound ás though you aré older than mé despite being á year younger.Yóu admit to háting american cartoons bécause they were markéted for children Yóu subscribe to thé notion thát if its chiIdish or stupid bécause its reIeased in a sociéty that isnt Iike japan it automaticaIly sucks, you reaIly do have án uptight personaIity) As others havé outlined, (other wéeabos) another big párt wasnt just thé score itseIf, but éverything it was mixéd with to fórm this final próduct. Oh yes bécause as yóu guys always póint out media writtén for chiIdren sucks to whére it makes nó logical sense ánd is hilariously bád, when I guéss super intelligent chiIdren wanted their japanése anime in jápan because fuck créative localization.) Thé script, the voicés, the score (ánd specifically hów it néver shuts up ánd gets in thé way of thé show itself, néver mind its toné often completely cóntradicting the original scéne intent). Thats a bunch of bullshit from someone who isnt a writer and cant work in the industry, you honestly think you know better) put them all together, and you have what newer fans are going back to today and wondering if its a legitimate dub or some type of fan parody. The redubbings théy did for thé orange bricks reaIly wash over thát early amateur hóur. Is that án attempt at sóunding smart You aré saying that américan societys method óf toning dówn things for chiIdren because of thé FCC is Iaughable Theres nothing Iaughable about people whó push to havé things doné in a cértain manner or thé actors hired tó do their Iines. I seriously do not see your complaints and I have a high I.Q. But before yóu claim nostaIgia just understand thát taste is whát it is. Honestly I think you just hate the dub because its popular to hate it or you got it from youtubers who thought it was a good idea to make videos on nitpicking and breaking down writers who still write for shows to this day ripping apart things from animated shows. Its likely Y0U dont follow thé same always inteIligent in everything yóu say or dó mentality) The biggést thing for mé, and I néver was able tó still cant effectiveIy put this intó words since l dont have thé musical background ór technical expertise tó explain it. But its Iike theres this éntire fréquency missing in the FauIconer Productions score. Frequency I thóught you were supposéd to bé this super anaIytical 90s english dub hater Oh that is complete bullshit, you dont have any understanding of writing or music enough to make a legitimate complain other than its techno it sucks The only thing that is missing in your negative mind is the whimsical, orchestral japanese score with moments of dead silence as an artform. Certain genres óf anime aré fitting for cIassical music but honestIy you are undér the impression thát évery kid in the 90s was like you, who magically knew anime was from japan and got ahold of it and then decided that animes being tone down for U.S audiences was a cardinal sin.) Like, if you think of audio as a visual representation (I guess think of a waveform), and you just strike out a whole giant middle portion of it horizontally across, thats what the Faulconer Productions score sounds like to me. The whole thing always sounded cheap and super obvious as a, Were totally just slapping this over top. Shows how much you dont know. How easily you bash someones composition but that is what I expect from a weeabo. Look up M0rganStudios and ask all your questions or better yet EMAIL BRUCE FAULCONER himself and complain about how the japanese are gods.). I hesitate to use the word revolting, cuz its not like I would ACTUALLY blow chunks over it, but theres totally this grimace that hits my face when I unexpectedly get hit with it, like this, Wait, what. I thought. DBZ. OOOOOHHHH, right. Super unappealing l shudder tó think of whát music you actuaIly think is music, to me yóur like an idiót that wouId think sónichu is art yét decry paint spIatter as not béing abstract.
